Continuing our new Portfolio series presenting images of local firms' projects in and outside of Portland, we come to the St. Edward Catholic Church in Keizer, Oregon, about 35 miles south of Portland, designed by the firm known as di loretoARCHITECTURE.
The 12,000 square foot project was designed to accommodate 600 worshipers. It was conceived "as a lantern, a beacon, to the local community," as DiLoreto's website explains, with a bounty of natural light pouring through its clerestory windows. The project recently received a 2014 Wood Design Award from the Wood Products Council.
