Apologies for the short notice (although I also mentioned the event in a previous post), but tonight at the Center for Architecture is the annual Jury Critique event featuring the three-member jury for this year's AIA Design Awards jury. There will be a 5:30 pm reception, followed by a brief presentation of each juror's body of work and then their critique of the projects submitted to this year's design awards program.
The 2009 Design Awards Jury consists of Will Bruder, of Will Bruder + Partners LTD in Phoenix; Mark Cavagnero, of Mark Cavagnero Associates in San Francisco, and Brigitte Shim of Shim-Sutcliffe Architects in Toronto. The Oakland Museum of California, pictured above, was designed by Cavagnero's firm.
The reception begins 5:30pm (including a no-host bar) and the presentations begin at 6:15pm. Cost is $5, or free for students with valid school ID (no tricks you sneaky kids).
Oakland Museum was designed by Roche, Dinkeloo and Assoc.(1961-68), Cavagnero has only designed current renovations...

Sorry I haven't posted anything yet, gang. I was trying this morning to get the info, then received it after I'd left for hours of meetings. I'm on my way to another meeting now, and will do my best to post the winners info after that. For the record, SRG Partnership and Works Partnership won the top two Honor awards, SRG for the Shattuck Hall renovation and Works for the bSide6 project.
