I think we'll see a lot more slender buildings as the sales price per square foot increases to a level where developers aren't as concerned about maximizing squre footage or adding a retail component to boost the bottom line. It's spendy to build skinny.


One issue I have always had with the bigshots of architecture is their ability to create a grant statement building that totally and absolutely ignores the enviroment its placed into. First and formost a build MUST fit into the community. Too many of these guys drop an eye catching building into an area that trashed the streetscape. The idea that a building could fit "too much" into its location (if its a great location already) seems absurd.


If these towers dont have the podium at the base, wont these just be the dreaded and dangerous "towers in the park" of Corbusier?
