The Beauty of Bridges

Why not a public-private partnership? Try to raise some private funds to help offset the cost of a bare-bones span? If we start now, and try to build public demand for something more than the skyway, we might get something more than a skyway. If we can get people to buy bricks for Pioneer Square, we can get people to buy components of a new bridge.


Lest we need any evidence beyond the beauty of the Golden Gate bridge, the Millau bridge got lots of attention. Oh, those frivolous French, willing to spend on aesthetic values.
I hope someone goes for aesthetics here.
